BC’s high level of bat diversity is part of the province’s rich natural heritage and is both ecologically and economically important to everything from resource industries and tourism to agriculture. We need to continue to build our partnerships around protecting bats to keep our night skies filled with these fascinating flying mammals.
With a devastating natural disaster such as White-nose Syndrome on Western Canada’s doorstep, researchers, conservation organizations, and the general public need to work together towards common goals and solutions. There is no other option for the future of bat populations.
As such, the Western Canada Bat Conservation Program has purposefully and organically created many partnerships and affiliations in this race against time.
